My wife and I just returned home from our 4 day stay. WOW !!! What a relaxing, enjoyable place. I don't remember ever staying in a hotel/resort that was any cleaner, your staff really went out of their way to acommadate our every need and make us feel very comfortable! I would recomend the DESERT SUN to anybody, first timers or not. Our stay at the resort will be remembered as one of the BEST vacations we've ever taken! We will be back! Soon I hope.

We just recently stayed at the resort May 12 - 15. It was our very first visit to your resort, and I just wanted to say it was one of the most enjoyable and relaxing times we have ever had. I want to especially thank your staff for making our stay, so comfortable. Your front desk put us at ease from the time we first stepped in, to the moment we left. Your restaurant staff was so attentive and hospitable, we felt like honored guest. Thank you again for a wonderful experience, and we can't wait to come back again.

"We just got home 15 minutes ago from your great newly remodeled resort. Had a great time, and will be back. Thanks for a great 3 day weekend and we WILL be telling our friends to come by. Oh had a great time last night at the at the Bare Buns nightclub."

"We visited Desert Sun for four days. We had such a wonderful time. The place was so beautiful and it was maintained so well. The room was spotless when we arrived and it remained that way through our visit. Each of the pools and spa pools provided great opportunities for relaxation. We enjoyed getting out when the sun was just coming up to enjoy the pools by ourselves and avoiding the need for sunscreen. The morning skies were beautiful and varied as the sun rose. Even the wind on one day was a treat. The mountains are gorgeous and so close. The flowers were so beautiful. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. We generally like going to different places rather than returning to where we have been. But we will return to Desert Sun when we are in the area. Thanks so much to everyone who directly or indirectly made our stay so enjoyable."

"My husband and I have returned from 8 wonderful days at Desert Sun Resort. What a fabulous resort and if you haven't been, it should be on every naturists short list of places to visit. The room was very nice (we stayed in one of the villas) and well appointed. The villa room was spacious and spotless.
The staff was just excellent all around.
A new conversational fire pit has been installed next to the activity pool for visiting after the sun sets and things cool off. I know a lot of people wait until March or April to visit Palm Springs but we had warm and sunny weather every day we were there. Our friends at our local resort will be jealous of our tans.
We re-booked for May and the resorts' Memorial Day event. I'm sure it won't be our last."

"The grounds were beautiful and especially for us coming from Colorado we enjoyed the green grass, palm trees and flowers. It was 85 degrees every day and we went home to another blizzard all tanned and feeling rested. We are truly enjoying the nude atmosphere and have become very comfortable. It's hard to describe and I'm sure you know what I mean how much more open people are and the conversations are genuine."

"I wanted to let you know what a wonderful time my wife and I had at the Desert Sun Resort. It was our 15th wedding anniversary which was the last weekend in March. We found the resort and accommodations exceptional. Everyone was so friendly including the staff.
Great job for keeping with the Spirit of Naturism.
Kudos go out to everyone for making it such a special day. Thank you again."

"Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay (albeit far too brief) in March while visiting CA for "our" Spring Break (translation: our grown children now reside in various parts of CA, and we try to visit them during March of every year).
You are to be commended for rescuing this "naturist institution" from extinction (as we have come to know it over the past two decades).
We both hope to revisit again next year (or, perhaps sooner), and increase our stay time by at least 100% (one day and night is just too little time).
Thank you both again for an enjoyable visit."

"Just wanted to drop a note about last weekend. We were there for a long weekend after a year and a half absence. Absolutely thrilled with the improvements around the pool, including the more "relaxed vibe". The conversation pit is great! The food in the restaurant is great and the service was excellent. The addition of the "social director" is a cool idea, and she has a great personality. The re-done Chaparral rooms were comfortable, and much improved over our last trip. We are eagerly trying to plan our next stay. "

Our stay here was great. We were looking for a first-class resort that was clothing optional and this was the ticket. Everything was up to date. It was a "real hotel" with a "difference". The owners happened to be on site the weekend we were there. On the Saturday night they arranged to show a movie out on the lawn near the quiet pool. It was cooler than expected, but rather than pack it in they supplied comforters for everyone. So the brave souls who faced the elements were treated to Dr. No, surround sound, delivered drinks from the bar and cushy comforters lying on chaise lounges under the stars. So, if you are looking for a spot that is a great hotel, has a warm, friendly, feeling, and happens to be clothing optional--this is the spot.

In our recent trip to Palm Springs, we had the opportunity to spend a day at Desert Sun Resort before heading to the airport for our trip home. This was very convenient since the resort was only 5 minutes drive from the airport.
It was well worth it. The grounds were beautifully manicured, pools, washroom facilities very clean, and friendly staff. It was convenient to have the restaurant right on the premise as we had lunch there. The clubhouse sandwich we tried was delicious and generous in portions.
Definitely worth a visit if you like sunbathing in the buff and have no one bothering you.

It's been 4 months since I stayed at the Desert Sun. It is exciting to see all the improvments they made in four months. Everything about this place keeps getting better.
Mike, the manager is great, always helpful, alway smiling and greeting people. The people at the desk are terrific, they are so helpful in so many ways, when you ask a question they get the answer, they set up tours, shows and anything else you need help with. The restaurant food is excellent, I would put them against LGs ( a top rated restauant) for sure.
This is the paradise of resorts. I got a chance to peek in one of the newly remodeled rooms and was totally impressed. I have sent friends to the Desert Sun and they thanked me for sending them there. If you want the best at a resonable price this is for you. It is a true nudist resort that welcomes everyone, couples and singles. You don't have people clicking pictures with their cell phone or cameras or hear boom boxes, these things aren't allowed outside the room. I could go on for a long time but I better stop.If you are a true nudist you will love it here.

After planning a stay at another clothing optional resort in Desert Hot Springs, and leaving within 10 min. of check in (after checking out the disappointing, run down and totally not-what-was-advertised accommodations and grounds), we called the Desert Sun Resort to see if they had availability. We had stayed at the property a few years earlier when known as Desert Shadows. We spoke with very friendly staff who were most understanding about our unexpected situation. We were delighted to know that they could accommodate us so we drove there immediately. When we walked into the front desk area, we were immediately impressed with the changes and cheerful staff ready to assist us. We were offered both a room or a condo. We asked to see both. After entering the grounds from the lobby we could see that the new owner has attended to those areas that mean the difference to guests. The landscaping was beautiful, pool sparkling, everything neat and well kept. After seeing the room (which was updated and very nice), we opted for the condo for the additional room it provides. We learned that the restaurant on site is open for all 3 meals most days and the bar is also open. Our condo was great--appointed nicely, very clean, quiet and just what we'd hoped. The staff, restaurant and bar on site along with the beautiful views of the mountains and lots of sun made what started out to be a major vacation disappointment to a great time (relaxing, unbothered, friendly) in a great place that we would recommend to anyone seeking a lovely clothing optional resort experience. We cannot say enough about the staff and the improvements we noted to the facilities. The guests we met were very friendly and we all seemed to thoroughly enjoy our stays. We'll definitely be returning!

My wife and I are nudists in Canada and we decided to visit Desert Sun Resort. WOW! What a nice place. The people were great. The stance was everyone was welcome and your behaviour would be what allowed you to stay. This is a true nudist resort, not a swingers resort - no cameras, no cell phone and no laptops outside your room. Inappropriate behaviour is delt with immediately but the closest thing I saw to anything inappropriate was someone taking a picture of their husband who was immediately asked, politley, by the manager to put the camera away.
The resort has three types of rooms - Newly remodeled hotel rooms with small fridge and bathroom. Most have a table and two chairs outside the door. Suites with a full kitchen, but with the charm of a Palm Springs bungalow and beautiful 1, 2 and 3 bedroom condos with patios, and full kitchens.
The resort has a full restaurant with breakfast, lunch and dinner menues and a full bar. The food was good, the service was excellent and exceptionally freindly. Every day that the restaurant is open they have happy hour and drinks are cheaper (I think it was 1/2 price) and they have a meet & greet on Fridays where they have free appetizers. The resort has three pools, one of which is a volleyball pool and two hot tubs, one pool and one hot tub are salt water. The sunning areas were great. There is a full service Spa and new equipment in the gym for those who don't just want to sit by a pool and relax.
All in all this was an excellent resort, with some of the friendliest staff I have ever come across. I would definately recommend this as a top notch nudist destination.

My husband and I stayed a weekend at the Desert Sun Resort and we thoroughly enjoyed it. I was a little apprehensive about it being nude (since we have never been on a nude vacation before), but within minutes, I was very comfortable. The sun hitting on my naked body was liberating. Both the guests and staff were very polite and made me feel comfortable.
My husband has a very stressful job and was looking forward to this trip. He was completely relaxed for the first time in many years. It made our trip a "second honeymoon".
This resort has beautiful grounds and is very clean. They do a great job of keeping it serene with the waterfalls, running streams, and fountains.
The food was outstanding in the restaurant and the massage was one of the better ones that we have experienced.
We will definitely return to Desert Sun the next chance we have to take a vacation.

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the fabulous Desert Sun. We have been visiting this property for the past 5 years and have always found it excellent for what it is- a full service nudist resort. We go for the accommodations, the sun, the pools, the hottubs, tennis, conversation, serenity and nudity 24/7.

August 2008 ~ This resort TOPS them all! Better than any other, no where have I found friendlier staff, more beautiful settings and luxury of this kind in a 'carefree' setting; I am a long time aanr person and have been to countless resorts as have many of my friends we all agree this is as good as it gets. We plan on going back in a couple months to hike on the San Andreas fault line and take the tram up to the Alpine Forest Range where it 20-25 degrees cooler all year round, maybe even play some golf! The front desk people are great, Michael the manager is a great guy.
The resort atmosphere was so friendly. We met a lot of very nice people during our 10 day stay at the resort, in the pool, spa, bar and restaurant. Shopping Downtown was fun, there is a Street Faire every Thursday night, dozens of great romantic restaurants and places to go dancing cheek to cheek! It truly felt like we were in Paradise at Desert Sun Resort.

This is the premiere nudist resort in Palm Springs - the only one of its size and luxury.

My wife and I returned to Desert Sun for the week. We found the resort better than ever during the past 5-6 years.
It appears that all of the planned projects have been completed. Each improvement has been done "first class" and with careful planning to maintain harmony with the existing amenities. The new fire pit and water feature are beautiful and a wonderful place to relax and meet. The Oasis Cafe has been nicely refurbished and is more open than before. The grounds are even more healthy looking than we remember even at their best, and everything is calm and pleasantly working.
The most notable improvement for us is the general atmosphere and attitude from the staff and patrons. The drama is gone. All seems peaceful and serene. We met several new friends (from early 30's to near 80's), all of whom remarked how pleasant their time at Desert Sun was this trip. The service was excellent. We love having the cafe on premises so that we don't have to dress and leave the resort. We'll be back 3-4 weeks/year.
We give significant credit for the improvements that have been made. It's easy to believe that Desert Sun will regain a place as one of the best naturist resorts in North America.
