Palm Springs Attractions

Most of guests come to Desert Sun Resort and don’t ever get dressed until they have to leave to go home but Palm Springs is a great town to be in with lots to do and see (unfortunately its not clothing optional). Take in the magnificent silence and solitude of the desert or immerse yourself in countless activities in a setting that can make even the most discriminating traveler kick back and unwind.

The area has been a magnet for Hollywood stars since the 1930s when Bing Crosby, Charles Farrell and Ralph Bellamy founded the area’s first tennis club in Palm Springs. Since the 1950s, Palm Springs and the nearby golf clubs have been hailed as the “playground of celebrities”. Frank Sinatra and his friends, including Dean Martin, Perry Como, Tony Bennett, Sammy Davis Jr., Rosemary Clooney and Connie Francis were frequent visitors in the close-knit celebrity community of the Coachella Valley in the 1950s and 1960s.

The desert is considered to be a peaceful and spiritual place to visit, but is also the setting for many other types of outdoor pleasures. The Coachella Valley Preserve is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream: hiking, biking and riding trails abound, with some spectacular wildlife and scenery along the way. The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway is a less strenuous way to see the scenic panorama unfold before your eyes.

Palm Springs also has plenty of shopping, casinos, unique places to see and world class restaurants. Come see why Palm Springs has long been deemed California’s ultimate desert playground.
